The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation, Inc.   Molecular & Biological Materials Core Facility: Resources

The Core Facility hosts two major resources: Molecular Resources and Biological Materials. In the Molecular Resources, the Core collected approximately 115,000 EST clones from Medicago truncatula. Biological materials include DNA pools and seeds from two M. truncatula mutant populations: fast-neutron deletion (FNB) population and Tnt1 insertion population. As of 2007, seeds from 7300 regenerated lines were collected in the Tnt1 mutant population, 7000 DNA samples were pooled for PCR-based reverse genetic screening. For the FNB population, 14 towers of DNA pools representing 28000 M1 plants were generated.

For the Tnt1 population, more than 5000 flanking sequence tags (FSTs) were recovered using TAIL-PCR. About 3500 lines were screened for visible phenotypes. The information is available at our database: http://10.7.5.69/mutant/
