Gene transcription and translation are affected by the environment and regulated by some special nucleic acid binding proteins. These proteins bind to DNA or RNA and regulate their actions. We are interested in the study of protein-nucleic acid interactions and try to understand how the proteins regulate the functions of their nucleic acid partners. The targets include some proteins involved in DNA repair, gene silencing, and transcription.
