Twenty students from southern Oklahoma and north Texas took part in The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation's summer camp, AgVenture.
Organized by the Noble Foundation's Agricultural Division, AgVenture is a four-day camp for high school students who have shown an interest in agriculture and may be contemplating a career in an agricultural field.
The camp, which took place June 5-8 at the Noble Foundation's Ardmore campus, provided students experience in numerous agriculture-related fields, such as new livestock technologies, livestock marketing and farm management, soil conservation, grazing management, commercial fish farming and intensive vegetable production.
"This camp provided these students a broad exposure to numerous facets of agriculture, as well as hands on experiences," said Shan Ingram, Education and Special Projects Manager for the Noble Foundation. "They are not just seeing how the agriculture field functions, they are experiencing it."
