Noble Foundation's AgVenture provides students hands-on experience

Twenty-four students from southern Oklahoma and north Texas took part in The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation's summer camp, AgVenture.

Organized by the Noble Foundation's Agricultural Division, AgVenture is a four-day camp for high school students who have shown an interest in agriculture and may be contemplating a career in an agricultural field.

The camp, which took place June 2-5 at the Noble Foundation's Ardmore campus, provided students experience in numerous agriculture-related fields, such as new livestock technologies, livestock marketing and farm management, soil conservation, grazing management, commercial fish farming and intensive vegetable production.

"This camp provided these students a broad exposure to several facets of agriculture, and allows them to see some research in action," said Shan Ingram, Education and Special Projects Manager for the Noble Foundation. "They are able to see how agriculture functions, as well as have some first hand experiences that they all seem to enjoy."
