The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation will host the North Texas Cattle Conference 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday, Oct. 20, at the Texas A&M University Research Center in Dallas.

The conference, which is hosted in cooperation with the Texas Cooperative Extension through the TAMU system, will highlight topics that affect all individuals involved in the cattle industry.

The morning sessions will include management strategies, forages and drought information, livestock practices, animal identification, fire ant management and internal/external parasite prevention.

During lunch, participants will receive updates from the United States Department of Agriculture.

In the afternoon, special breakout sessions will allow participants to hone in on specific topics that range from soil testing and marketing to fencing and winter nutrition. The event will close with a question-and-answer session.

"The North Texas Cattle Conference is a great resource for those in the cattle industry," said David Annis, Suburban Agriculture Specialist for the Noble Foundation. "Anyone - from the experienced cattleman to those who own just a few head - will come away from this conference with valuable information."

The North Texas Cattle Conference costs $15 to attend, and registration will be held until Thursday, Oct. 19. Five Continuing Education Units (CEU) are offered for pesticide applicators who attend this conference.
