Media advisory issued October 21, 2003, effective immediately. Allen to Kick Off Public Lectures in Science Series ARDMORE, Okla. The second season of the Noble Foundation's Public Lectures in Science series will begin on Thursday, Oct. 30 with a lecture on the mountain systems of Oklahoma and the geology of the Arbuckle Mountains and the Ardmore Basin by Robert "Bob" Allen. Allen, a native Oklahoman, is a professional geologist with more than 50 years of geological experience. He lives and works in Ardmore and has studied the local geology since 1954. Allen's lecture will include a slide presentation and rock samples. An 18-page handout called "Stratigraphy, Mountain Building and Complex Geological Structures of the Ardmore Basin" will also be available. The lecture will be held at 7 p.m. in the Kruse Auditorium of the Noble Foundation, located at 2510 Sam Noble Parkway, and will be followed by a reception.
