The Noble Foundation's Fifth Workshop in Virus Evolution

The Samuel Roberts Noble Foundation's Popular Workshop in Virus Evolution is back! The Fifth incarnation of this event will be October 2-5, 2008, at the Foundation's conference center in Ardmore Oklahoma.

Invited Speakers for this year's meeting are:

  Holly Wichman, University of Idaho
  Valerian Dolja, Oregon State University
  Alice Telesnitsky, University of Michigan
  Frank Ryan, Sheffield Health Authority
  Susanna Manrubia, Astrobiology Institute

At this time I expect that we will have funds for all aspects of the meeting except travel (i.e. you just have to get yourself here).

As in previous meetings, registration is quite limited, and acceptance is based upon submission of abstracts. Application will be open to anyone interested. Please feel free to circulate this to anyone you know who might be interested. Future emails will include details about submission of abstracts. These will be due sometime in the summer of 2008.

Registration will include workshop attendance, housing and meals, and will be free of charge. Please do not register until after your abstract has been accepted. If you are accepted but are unable to attend, please notify the organizer (mroossinck@noble.org) immediately so that someone else can fill your slot.

Getting here: Ardmore is located in south central Oklahoma, approximately midway between the Dallas/FortWorth and Oklahoma City airports. We will make every effort to provide transportation to and from these airports for workshop participants. Rental cars are also available at either airport. Ardmore is also served by an AmTrak Train Station, and a Greyhound Bus Station.
